Through its global network of affiliated companies, KMT Waterjet also develops complex tailor-made units for specific customer applications. KMT Waterjet manufactured and installed the first commercially viable waterjet cutting unit in the world.

1946 Foundation of company by Joe McCartney, in Baxter Springs, Kansas, USA
1951 Manufacture of first LDPE high pressure pump with 2500 bar for the chemical industry
1964 INGERSOLL-RAND acquires McCartney
1971 INGERSOLL-RAND produces the first 4000 bar high pressure unit for waterjet cutting
1986 Best-Matic opens its “Waterjet Office” in Bad Nauheim, Germany
1989 INGERSOLL-RAND takes over the Best-Matic Group
1993 IR Bad Nauheim appointed sales office for high pressure pumps for ESA
(Europe, Africa, the Middle East and Asia)
2003 KMT acquires INGERSOLL-RAND Waterjet
2005 KMT takes over Aqua-Dyne
2006 KMT takes over H2O
2008 Acquisition of the KMT Group by the Swedish family-controlled investment company Nordstjernan
